In spite of the Spring Break for the kids, the rodeo, the time change, and the Coronavirus, Sunday was a great day. In the worship service we were down in attendance, but up in Spirit. The service opened with our Drive-Thru Prayer Team singing a catchy song titled, “Nobody.” The chorus says, “I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody All about Somebody who saved my soul; Ever since You rescued me, You gave my heart a song to sing, I’m living for the world to see, nobody but Jesus.” I think people were surprised to see how many we have on this team and such a diverse team with all ages involved. The Drive-Thru Prayer Ministry is certainly one of the most successful ministries we have ever launched. Thanks to everyone who is in the parking lot on Mondays from 6:00-7:30 P.M. By the way, we will have an All-Day Drive-Thru Prayer, Maundy Thursday, April 9 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Before I leave the subject, I want you to know we have now seen people in 614 cars come asking for prayer. This clearly illustrates there’s a lot of people passing us every day who are hurting and looking for answers to their problems. Just this past week, three people we had prayed with came back to report on answered prayers. Two couples had filed for divorce, but are now back together working things out. Another woman came several months ago asking for prayer. She had experienced several miscarriages and naturally, she was very distraught. Our team listened to her request to get pregnant again, but this time is able to carry her baby to term. She came praising God that she is pregnant again and past the first trimester. Her doctor told her she is past the high-risk period and feels her pregnancy is a good one and it now appears she will give birth to a healthy baby. These testimonies prove that prayer works, and there is absolutely no limit to what God can do when we pray in faith.

The Sunday Night Roundup Fellowship was a huge success. Without any question, the number one attraction was the mechanical bull. The kids were lined up for two hours trying their hand at riding “Bodacious” the bull. They all had lots of fun, and thankfully, no one got hurt. Our champion bull rider was Brielle Huff at 38 seconds, but this Paw-Paw will be in big trouble if I fail to give credit to my granddaughter, Lily. She placed second for the night, staying on “Bodacious” for 33 seconds. The attendance for the entire event was exceptionally good. I stayed busy meeting guests, many of them parents and grandparents from our Upward Basketball Ministry. With Day Light Saving Time, Senior Adults enjoyed themselves knowing they would be able to get home before dark. Several people told me we need to have fellowships like this at least every quarter. Special thanks to our Preschool and Children’s Teams who set up, served us plenty of delicious hotdogs (cooked by Kevin Horn) and cleaned up afterward. I was the last one to leave and I was home before eight o’clock.

This Sunday is going to be very special as we commemorate our 15th Anniversary here in Spring. That was in the past and I know we cannot live in the past, however, it would be nice to return to the spirit of unity and joy we experienced then. Pastor Doug has put together an order of service reminiscent of that first service. I want to urge every member of the church to come to this special service. Until then…
