DEACON MINISTRY

The Deacons of Memorial Baptist Church are ordained in accordance with direction found in the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

At Memorial, the deacons exist to serve the needs of the church and support the pastor. They are not a governing body and have no authority except that found in the scriptures. They promote spiritual leadership and vitality. Deacons are selected by the Deacon Selection Committee and approved by the church.

The office of Deacon is an honor and deacons serve without compensation. They strive to be Godly men who actively invest their lives in the highest calling for laity —spiritual leader, servant, prayer warrior— deacon.

GREETERS MINISTRY

The purpose of our Greeters Ministry is to make members feel welcome as they arrive. Our greeters are the first people newcomers come in contact with, and it is their pleasure to welcome and direct people who are new to our church campus.

Two greeters are placed in all parking areas of the church, equipped with large umbrellas for rain or shine, as they help identify us as a source of information. When a visitor approaches, the greeter will walk that person to the Information Desk. Someone will be there to register visitors and direct them to an appropriate Bible Study Class. The greeter may get a map of the buildings for the visitor and walk them to their class.

Volunteers to serve as Greeters are always needed. Hours are Sunday mornings, 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM
